Diabetes has a huge impact on the individual and those around them.

Diabetes Foundation Aotearoa (previously Diabetes Projects Trust) has been delivering services focused on preventing diabetes and its complications for 25 years. The Foundation emphasises partnership with the community to achieve better health for present and for future generations.

We currently deliver a range of popular programmes across Auckland, most fully funded by the Ministry of Health, and we always have new projects under development. Please don't hesitate to make contact if we can help with training/staff development, design of health promotion or health education programmes, development of new resources, or evaluation/research in the community.

Do you have type 2 diabetes?

There's been an important change to medications, click here for more information.

We provide forums for the medical community like our 2019 and 2020 diabetes summits in Auckland with Professor David Simmons. Sign up for our mailing list for information on Summit 3
We have a range of programmes aimed at preventing diabetes and complications, and we purpose design resources, shown are kits for high schools.
We work at community level...pictured the Gardens4Health team growing better health with community gardening. Ask about Train the Trainer for our other programmes.
We believe in programmes which work alongside rather than require impossible big changes...we encourage small steps towards healthy living - home, school or workplace
