DPT/Countdown MasterClass

Congratulations to Angela and team on this pilot programme being named a finalist in the Community Health and Wellbeing section of the ADHB Health Excellence awards in 2016.

The principle designer and project lead was DPT's Nutritionist Angela Tsang.  The sessions delivered into local high schools were hosted by celebrity chef Brett MacGregor (winner NZ MasterChef 2010) who created a range of healthy recipes suitable for the audience of teens in the South Auckland setting.  Evaluation indicated the programme was very well received by students and teachers alike because of it's hands on and down to earth approach.  For this programme a mobile kitchen was designed and constructed, supported by new resources, online presence, and 'goodie bags' given out to participants which contained some basic kitchen items and common spices.

The programme had funding from Counties Manukau Health and support from the Countdown supermarket chain in the form of vouchers for product purchase and branded bags.

As of the time of writing the project status is closed.
