Strategic Planning Meeting 2024

Last Friday was another high energy annual strategy planning session for the Diabetes Foundation Aotearoa Board of Trustees.

Thanks to the team at Previously Unavailable for being amazing hosts and providing such a cool venue for the intense discussions that went on among our enthusiastic Trustees.

Present were Chair John Baker, and Board members Graham King, Henry Kozac, F A Lesa, Ruby McGill, Gerhard Sundborn and Kate Vennell, as well as Clinical Director Kate Smallman and manager Karen Pickering.  Sincere thanks for their willingness to share their skills and experience to ensure that our 'small but mighty' (as team member Trish says!) organisation remains agile and adapts to meet our objectives in the ever changing community diabetes environment.  Thanks to Kanchana Perera for a fascinating presentation updating on her progress with her PhD through Western Sydney University, with funding support from Diabetes Foundation aotearoa.

Keep an eye out for exciting things to come, including plans to get in behind some of the pressing issues for people with diabetes, development of the Diabetes Foundation Aotearoa podcast series telling the stories of mate huka across the whenua, and a community diabetes Summit in September.
