The following is a non-exhaustive list of organisations and sites that can be useful sources of information.  Some have resources or run health education/health promotion activities. 

Diabetes New Zealand - A national organisation which has information for people with diabetes in New Zealand.  The extensive website has some resources and information and they have subscription based magazine service.  There have been changes with local branches being absorbed into the Wellington head office, please check the website for local information.

Regional Services (not under Diabetes NZ).  If you're from these areas check out these excellent examples, Manawatu Horowhenua Tararua Diabetes Trust and  Diabetes Christchurch

Kidney Society - This Auckland based but wide reaching organisation has the mission "To promote the welfare of people with kidney disease and their families by providing ongoing support and by monitoring and influencing renal services".

Healthify - website run by Health Navigator, aims to make "health information simple for everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand"

Heart Foundation - New Zealand Heart Foundation provides many resources and programmes to assist in the knowledge and prevention of heart disease.   

JDRF NZ 
New Zealand branch of an international non-profit organisation with the mission  "to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes".  

NZSSD - New Zealand Society for the Study of Diabetes
The professional body for clinicians and those working in the field of Diabetes care.  Annual conference in May each year.   

ARPHS - Auckland Regional Public Health Services
Responsible for preventing disease and improving the health of the people in Tamaki MakaurauAuckland Regional Public Health Services have a variety of nutritional and healthy eating programmes,  including a handful of downloadable resources.    

Otara Health
Otara Health is a community organisation which runs a selection of lifestyle and health related programmes within the Otara area.   

Healthpoint
Healthpoint provides a regionally and keyword searchable directory of healthcare providers, referral expectations, services offered and common treatments.  

Health Ed
Health Ed provides a catalogue of free health resources from the Ministry of Health Manatū Hauora

Healthy Families NZ
Healthy Families NZ is a prevention initiative working for better health in "the places we live, learn, work and play".
